Nigeria has the largest representation of four players in the final shortlist of 10 players for the 2013 CAF African Footballer of the Year Award which would take place in January, in Lagos.
Topping the list of the award hopefuls is Chelsea star, John Obi Mikel, who, on Monday, narrowly missed out on the BBC Africa Footballer of the Year Award to Ivorian, Yaya Toure, who is also in the list of 10 players.
The other Nigerians are goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, Emmanuel Emenike and Ahmed Musa, who all played key roles in the Super Eagles lifting the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in February.
Other players are Egypt's Mohamed Aboutrika who is on the list for both African Player of the Year and the award for Africa-based footballer, which he won last year.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - Borussia Dortmund (Germany) and Gabon; Didier Drogba - Galatasaray (Turkey) and Ivory Coast; Asamoah Gyan - Al Ain (UAE) and Ghana; and Jonathan Pitroipa - Rennes (France) and Burkina Faso complete the list of 10 players.
The head coaches of the national football associations affiliated to CAF would vote to decide the eventual winners of the two categories.
The winners would be announced at the Glo-CAF Awards Gala scheduled for 9 January in Lagos.
Meanwhile, Sunday Mba is the only Nigeria up for the African Player of the Year - Based in Africa award.
