Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is of the opinion that Nigeria are lucky to have Shola Ameobi in their national team set-up.
Since he impressed on his debut against Venezuela, Ameobi has helped increase the depth of Nigeria's attack, with his best performance coming in Nigeria's 2-2 draw with Italy on Monday.
"I don’t think he will go to another World Cup and it is fantastic for him and Nigeria are lucky to have him," Pardew told the Daily Mail.
"He is a top top player, he is in form and could be a surprise package in the World Cup, who will do well on that stage.
"Shola has been fantastic for this football club in more ways than one.”
Like Stephen Keshi who openly praised the leadership qualities of the 31-year-old, Pardew went on to praise the personality of the player.
"I don’t know about an ambassadorial role for him. He could be Prime Minister with his personality,’ Pardew said.
Ameobi has scored two goals in five appearances for Nigeria so far.
