Ghana have qualified for the 2014 World Cup, despite a 2-1 defeat to Egypt in Cairo on Tuesday.
The Black Stars held a 6-1 lead from the first leg in Kumasi and looked like a side content to play out the 90 minutes and starting making plans for Brazil.
Amr Zaki gave the home side a glimmer of hope when he scoring on 25 minutes, heading home a perfect Mohamed Aboutrika free-kick.
The Pharaohs continued to press, but had to settle for the one-goal advantage at the break.
Mohamed Salae had a shot cleared off the line on 75 minutes before Gedo made it 2-0 with six minutes remaining.
However, with time running out Asamoah Gyam found space in the box and squared to Kevin-Prince Boateng, who made no mistake from six yards out.
